| Personal Statement
2000 - 2002 In the first two years
our work concentrated mainly on video. Several techniques as the New
Method and Narrative
VJ-ing were developed. 2001 - 2003 The interactive cinema project “Die Geschichte meines Todes” (The Story of my death) was first shown in the Medienwerkstatt In & Around Medien in 2002 and in several other locations. 2002 After a work demonstration of
ours the producer Carl-Erdmann Schönfeld (“My brother Tom”)
offered us to cooperate. We went on in the development of our film-project
„Der Talentwettbewerb“ for five month, but then splitted up
by mutual agreement, because our visions were too different from each
other. 2003 Our work was funded by the Hauptstadtkulturfonds.
Since 2003 different social theories as well as media theory have been
gaining importance in our work. In 2003 I started as Dolly Tschad with series of video-stills from dolls I occasionally had found in the streets. Since then I follow two different approaches: On the one hand as Daniela Schiffer I am concentrated on production, assistance and organisation of rather political and collective projects and on the other hand as Dolly Tschad I do rather personal works, in which I proceed on my own and in a completely intuitional way. 2004 Our main focus lays on radio and experimental radio plays, as well as our series ”Mediatheoretical dialoges” with Dirk Baecker, Wolfgang Ernst, Wolfgang Hagen, Matthias Lilienthal, Detlev Schneider, Florian Schneider and Pit Schultz. [line up of our projects in 2004] The project I am momentarily working on is a complex of several projects: “In-KLO-sion/Exklusion” a sound art project on public and semi-public toilets in cultural and art institutions, a new radio talk format (Hasenheide Talk) and an open production archive (No:B.orderland). The project started with two installations during the “Hack.it.art” exhibition and the Klartext-Konferenz in January and February 2005. Basically my focus will be to work in different networks, in which „art“ could rather be a model for another mediated culture and could arise the question, how the traditional technical media (magazines, radio, tv) can be re-invented under the new circumstances given by computers and the internet and how a culture of reciprocity could be designed. My personal interest lies in the political handling of media. If we consider our society as a mediated society, the focus lies within the use of media and how the production rights are distributed. So my over all theme could be, sto provide a different view on the use of media and on the act of emancipation that different uses could mean. Maybe art can follow the aim to built sensoric models for another possible culture.
